Our car is often one of the most expensive tangible goods we own. His thefts are something we want to avoid at all costs. Unfortunately, the anti-theft alarm function, which significantly reduces the likelihood of car theft, is not always enabled (or is, but in the factory version).
Functional modern car alarm, which does not take much time to install, is an ideal option for any car owner who is worried about his car. We offer various configurations with different capabilities for the most demanding drivers.
The main types of alarm
Alarms, the installation of which is one of the activities of our company, may differ in type according to the type of connection. In this regard, they are divided into two types:
- unidirectional;
- bidirectional
In the first case, we can only send signals to our alarm control unit, but there is no feedback from the unit to the control panel (key fob). We will be able to close / open the door of our car and set / remove the car alarm, but that’s all.
The price of installing a car alarm for each type is approximately the same, but in the case of a bidirectional version of the selected security kit, you can get a feedback signal to the remote control.
This means that we have the same possibilities as with one-way signaling, but at the same time we can be informed about the current state of the car:
- are all doors closed?
- whether the alarm is on;
- whether a siren is sounding at the moment and so on.
Modern car alarm systems most often provide us with all the information through the LCD screen of the remote control. The price for installing an alarm on a car of this type, as well as its cost, is somewhat higher, but the level of your peace of mind for the condition of the car is appropriate.
What to choose? If we want to additionally protect our car from theft, but do not want to spend too much money, a unidirectional alarm installation, the price of which is very moderate, will be a good solution.
A bi-directional car alarm, the price of which is higher when installed, is suitable for those who live in disadvantaged areas with a high likelihood of theft. It is chosen by owners of expensive cars or cars with valuables and professional audio equipment in the cabin.
Main functions
Car alarms, the installation prices of which may be different, have different functionality. When buying, you should pay attention, in particular, to the vibration sensors available in your model. After all, it depends on them whether the system detects a push, a blow or an attempt to hack, whether it turns on a loud sound signal and notifies the owner.
Professional car alarms with installation prices are often very significant, which is not surprising. They can be used to set a very loud acoustic alarm up to 100 decibels or more to scare and deter a potential thief.
Modern models of anti-theft devices can offer really interesting modules that will make theft even more difficult. They are complemented by new sensors, such as sound sensors to detect breaking windows in a car, traffic sensors to monitor the car’s surroundings or tilt sensors to identify an attempt to tow a car.
