Why is engine endoscopy needed?

In what cases is an endoscope engine inspection effective?

• It is effective in finding faults when there are suspicions of piston or valve burnout, coolant getting into the combustion chamber, or simply inspecting the engine before purchase.
• This is a fairly informative diagnostic, because it allows you to see the honing of the cylinders, the condition of the pistons, whether there is carbon deposits, and what condition the valve and intake manifold are in. In some cases, it is possible to check the turbine if the length of the wire and the diameter of the camera allow.

Engine Cylinder Endoscopy

Inspection of engine cylinders using an endoscope allows you to determine the condition, nature and degree of malfunction with the greatest possible accuracy. And, as a result, this allows you to give more accurate recommendations for repair and further operation of the unit.

Based on the image obtained during endoscopy, a qualified specialist can easily determine the degree of cylinder wear. This is indicated by the condition of the hones (diagonal notches on the cylinder wall, which are applied during the production process to maintain the oil film and wear out during operation). Also, during inspection, you can find scratches that indicate metal friction, such a defect indicates a malfunction of the engine, since in a working mechanism such parts do not come into contact. Experienced craftsmen can even determine the correspondence of the mileage indicated on the odometer with the degree of wear of the cylinder-piston group.
